Yin Yoga is a slow, soothing, and meditative style of Yoga that targets the deep connective tissues, bones, joints, fascia, and ligaments in the body.
Since it is a very passive approach to Yoga where you perform the majority of the poses seated on the floor or laying down it brings you in a state of deep relaxation. The poses are held for longer periods of time, sometimes 3 - 5 minutes
Yin is practiced cold with no warm up and with more of a and lubrication.
In the Yang sequence we will be using the sun salutations from the Vinyasa Yoga flow as a basic structure. It is a set of ‘asanas’ or positions to have a clear order with the possibility to weave in other positions as well.
on the day and the hour the flow would start in the morning with a Yin practice
and end with a Yang flow or in the evening we would
with a Yang flow and end in a deep relaxing Yin practice.
In this case it is handy to have a basic knowledge of the Vinyasa sun salutations so there is no confusion or miscommunication during the practice. As well it is good to have the basic Yoga props such as blocks, a bolster and a blanket with you to comfort yourself in the Yin Yoga positions.
I will offer a Yin&Yang Practice from late spring early summer on outside.
